Glacier Bay boats are known for their “rough water” handling due to the displacement hull configuration. Riding through the water as opposed to planing on top, these boats run comfortably in conditions where others have slowed to trawler speeds or simply sought safe harbor. This particular 3480 is in truly superb condition due to owner upgrades and continuous upkeep. The engines are run every 2 weeks up to full temperature under load to make certain all is well. The current owners have updated the boat and it shows at a very high level of fit and finish; meaning it will be difficult to find anything comparable. Complete date-stamped photos are attached revealing actual condition. Open ocean running in rough conditions is exactly what this boat loves and it pushes through steep chop as thought it didn’t exist.

Walkthrough:
Beginning with the cockpit, “TWO LOVES” offers the cockpit fishing space of most 40’ convertibles. The engine rooms (port&starboard) are accessed here as well. Numerous rod, lure/line and live/bait wells will suit the most particular fisherman. The aft upholstered bench seat, complimented by an aft facing bulkhead seat has a very nice wood pedestal table that can be stowed when underway. Aft of the cockpit and through a starboard tuna door is a super large swim and landing platform that will serve equally well for tender storage. Against the house bulkhead to port is a large fish/prep table with loads of storage. A cockpit shower is included as well.
Moving into the fully enclosed pilothouse/salon, one is immediately impressed with the use of space and comfortable layout. As a side note, the house enclosure combined with the remote engine locations makes this one of the quietest pilothouses around. To port is a U-shaped settee with removable dinette table, lots of storage and a 360 degree view that is hard to beat. Conversation when underway is accomplished at normal living room levels. To starboard is an inside work table with day fridge and shelf storage. The helm is centerline in the pilothouse and flanked by the port/starboard companionways. It seems unimaginable that one could want for anymore in the way of navigation/communication/ship’s monitoring. Dual chartplotters plus a Furuno backup GPS, autopilot, VHF/AIS, full engine electronics, systems monitors and underway 12VDC equipment management all takes place here from the comfort of a Stidd helm chair. Between the low noise levels, unbeatable ride and pilothouse comfort, long days underway should not become exhausting.
To starboard through the companionway is the fully equipped galley. We have posted a number of photos to convey the significant options for storage here. Dual fridge/freezers, dual stainless basins, 2-burner stove top, microwave and pressure Hot/Cold water make for a complete galley. Forward of the galley is the guest stateroom with a very generous double, deck hatch, opening portholes and a cavern for gear/supplies.
Across the bridgedeck to port and aft is the head with electric flush WC, Hot/Cold pressure water, large medicine/linen lockers and a dedicated shower stall. Moving forward in the port hull is the electrical distribution center for the ship’s 12VDC and 120VAC electrical systems; all handy from the helm. A galvanic isolator protects the ship from stray currents often found in marinas. Further forward in the port hull is the master stateroom with queen berth, opening portholes/hatch and again, more storage than one might need.
All of the interior accommodations are supplied with AC-Heat and complimented with Teak/Holly soles, positive lock cabinets and handholds that happen to be seldom needed. The pilothouse also features opening side windows for those perfect days that come along. Full area lighting for day/night operations as well as task/reading and courtesy lighting can be found strategically located throughout the interior/engine room spaces.
