Description

The Tartan 37 is a timeless classic designed by Sparkman Setephens.  With its board up draft of only 4’2″ the Tartan 37 is ideally suited for the waters of the east coast and Bahamas.  “Slipstream” was kept on freshwater Lake Ontario until recently and is in very good condition.  The hull has new white Awlgrip and fresh bottom paint (2018).  Slipstream has many recent upgrades including new dodger, new bimini, new Lewmar vertical windlass, new Garmin Sailpack-wind, depth, speed, temp with extra repeater at chart table, new factory-made rudder, new hardware and re-worked centerboard, new 120v electrical panel and wiring, new Harken roller furling, new standing rigging, new freshwater pump and plumbing, new 1200 BTU AC and heat. Additional equipment includes autopilot, larger Westerbeke 50 diesel, 3 blade Max-Prop, Force 10 propane stove.  Located in Oriental, NC.  The Tartan 37 is a sailor’s sailboat.

Accommodations

Slipstream offers plenty of space and storage to comfortably accommodate family and friends with six berths.  Forward is the master stateroom with the v-berth, two hanging lockers, four drawers.  Overhead is a large opening hatch and two opening portlights.  Aft and to port is the head with handheld shower with hot and cold water.  The head has two entries, either from the v-berth or the main cabin.  Across from the head is another hanging locker.  The main salon has a bulkhead mounted dining table with drop-leaf to allow easy passage forward.  There is a single settee to port, another single to starboard and the pilot berth to starboard as well.  The pilot berth makes for a great place for stowage of duffel bags when not used for sleeping.  The galley is to starboard and has a 3 burner Force 10 propane stove.  The forward-facing chart table is to port with a large quarter berth just aft.  The interior cushions are of the vintage “Tartan” plaid pattern and while dated they are in remarkably good condition.
